Thu., 5/23 – Conditions didn’t change much overnight… at dawn there was still very little wind and the sea looked like glass.
Around 10:00 am, we got just enough wind to sail! So we put up Kobe (aka “Black Mamba”) which is for sailing upwind in light air – and we are actually sailing…. No engine noise – Fantastic!
Around 1:00 pm, we took this photo showing a Sun Halo
Unfortunately the wind only lasted until about 4:00pm so we ended the day just like we started…No wind…:(
We love reading your posts! I’m not sure of the proper expression for sailors but “smooth sailing” or “ May the wind be at your back” comes to mind haha! But not being a sailor, maybe that’s not what you want. Thanks for the updates and you are all in our prayers. DeDe and John Strama
Good luck on the crossing. We’ll be following your progress.
Thanks again for letting us stay at your beautiful home.
