The blog is back after a long hiatus! Life threw a lot at us, and we didn’t have a chance to post any regular updates. But here’s a summary of what’s happened since July 2024.
After completing all the chores to ‘put Moxie to bed’ for a while, we headed back to Colorado until early September. It was a much-needed break – The Med is too hot and too crowded in the summer but it’s a fantastic time to be in Colorado! In mid-September, we returned to Moxie and sailed to La Grande-Motte, France, where Outremer is based, for some small repairs.
September in France was delightful, with warm days and cool nights. While waiting for our repairs to be finished, we took a few days to visit the beautiful town of Avingon, France and toured the Palace des Papes.

We had planned to leave France in late September and head to Majorca to meet up with Lance and Shari on Queso Grande, but my father’s health was deteriorating so we had to skip that and get back to Cartegena as soon as possible. As always, moving from one port to another on a sailboat is ‘weather dependent’ and it took us longer than we would have liked.
Although the rain passed, the winds were still very strong in a few days later.
We made it back safely and headed ‘stateside’ to deal with my dad’s health issues. While at home, we enjoyed all the comforts of being on land including seeing our children, watching lots of sports, and catching up with friends.
All too soon it was March 2025 and time to head back to Moxie to work our way around to the west of Spain to position ourselves for a summer in Northern Europe. While almost everyone heads to the Mediterranean during the summer, we didn’t want to follow the crowd. We were eager to leave the crowded Med for a more interesting area. Stay tuned for a video series of the highlights.
